Half film's cost was financed by village roadshow pictures the rest was covered by warner bros and a small share of RatPac-dune entertainment. How was The Lego Movie produced? What was the effect on Warner Bros? Think about money/ownership The film is part computer generated imagery and part real life lego bricks. Warner bros would attract a wider audiences watch their films and they can produce more films that feature lego as it was successful and it broadens their genre  How was it distributed? How did this affect different platforms (piracy/DVD sales) Think about money! Cinema, posters, websites, McDonalds toys  How was the film circulated globally? Was this successful because of the conglomerate ownership? How did the Warner Bros use convergence? Look through the booklet!  19/12/23 Post Modernism  Post Modernism - often acknowledge their own artificiality and remind the audience they are media products - blends and merges different styles together to create something new e.g. lego movie creating new and original characters wit lego pieces  Challenges genre conventions and could be a mixture of many genresis fantasy, action/adventure, comedy, romance and sci-fi instead of conforming to one Challenge typical character roles Emmet (the hero) is an average person, Wildstyle (female) is the strongest of the group, an emo and a woman and Batman is not as heroic as he is in other films Pastiche: imitates/has similarities with other stories , films, books and has a humorous take on troubles in society/cultureLinks to the Matrix with a similar storyline/plot, brings in characters from other stories ( Batman ) and gives the message that imagination is important to have in society and you don't have to conform to the rules and be different Hyper-reality
