How was The Lego Movie funded? Do some research!

Half film's cost was financed by village roadshow pictures the rest was covered by warner bros and a small share of RatPac-dune entertainment.

How was The Lego Movie produced? What was the effect on Warner Bros? Think about money/ownership

The film is part computer generated imagery and part real life lego bricks. Warner bros would attract a wider audiences watch their films and they can produce more films that feature lego as it was successful and it broadens their genre

How was it distributed? How did this affect different platforms (piracy/DVD sales) Think about money!

Cinema, posters, websites, McDonalds toys

How was the film circulated globally? Was this successful because of the conglomerate ownership? How did the Warner Bros use convergence? Look through the booklet!

Warner Bros. distribute the films to a large number of countries theatrically, as well as use their own Warner Bros. subsidiaries to release the DVDs and BluRay discs. Lego movie launched a twitter account and youtube channel to promote sneak peeks.

How was the lego movie regulated by who and what problems did it face?

Lego were keen to ensure their reputation as a household name wasn't ruined so the movie they made had to not include sexual imagery or violence and the film was then rated 'mild fantasy violence vey mild language' rated U.

How did the film industry reflect the society in 2014 when it was produced?
Think about what methods it was distributed on, how people can access the film, how was the film able to be a global success…
Due to there being technological advancements in 2014 warner bros and lego were able to promote the film on a wide range of media platforms. It was on a range of steaming services such as prime movies and google play and as a result people could watch it at convenient times for them whenever they want after it stoped showing at cinemas.

How did the film’s distribution and circulation reflect the target audience? (remember the target audience for the film is NOT just children)
Think about how the target audience can access the film.
Te Lego movie had a vast range of target audiences it was made for children who play with lego but also adults who used to play with lego it gives them a nostalgic value so they want to go and watch it to remember their childhood. This then brings families together as when they watch it they can both have a sense of entertainment through the movie.
